Elsa will be exhibiting at SMOPYC 2026 (Zaragoza). Discover how our mobile line boring machines enhance efficiency in earthmoving and mining operations.
The key event for Southern Europe
From 15 to 18 April 2026, the 20th edition of SMOPYC (Salón Internacional de Maquinaria para Obras Públicas, Construcción y Minería) will take place at the Feria de Zaragoza exhibition centre. It is one of the most eagerly expected events on the European trade fair calendar, a highlight for professionals in the public works, construction and mining sectors.
Following the success of previous editions, SMOPYC 2026 returns with an even stronger focus on three key pillars: technology, digitalisation and sustainability. With over 80,000 square metres of exhibition space, the fair is the ideal showcase for discovering the solutions that will shape the construction site of the future.
The Spanish market: A growing sector
The decision to return to Zaragoza is no mere coincidence. The Spanish market for construction machinery is currently experiencing a period of strong growth, driven by investment in infrastructure and the need to renew the existing fleet of machinery. In this context, operational efficiency and the reduction of machine downtime are no longer simply competitive advantages, but above all essential prerequisites for surviving in the market.
Elsa Srl’s solution: Repair is better than replacement
In keeping with the exhibition’s theme of ‘Building a More Sustainable World’, Elsa Srl will be bringing its mobile line boring technology to Zaragoza, a solution that fits perfectly with the principles of the circular economy.
With the Supercombinata series of inline boring machines, ovalised bores and worn bolts can be reconditioned directly on site. This approach offers construction and mining companies significant advantages:
- Sustainability: By repairing a component without having to dismantle large parts (such as excavator arms or buckets) and transport them to specialist workshops, the CO₂ emissions associated with transport and logistics can be significantly reduced. Furthermore, extending the machine’s service life reduces the need for new spare parts, leading to lower consumption of raw materials and production energy;
- Logistical savings: Direct on-site repairs eliminate the costs and complexity associated with special transport, managing temporary storage and coordinating deliveries. This leads to lower operating costs, more efficient resource management and reduced downtime;
- Economic efficiency: On-site repairs reduce downtime from days to hours, thereby ensuring operational continuity on construction sites.
What you’ll find at our stand
Elsa Srl is renewing its long-standing presence at SMOPYC. At our stand, visitors can experience the quality of ‘Made in Italy’ first-hand and see for themselves the versatility of our machine tools. In particular:
- Supercombinata Easy: ideal for jobs in the diameter range from Ø 22 mm to Ø 250 mm, it is the most widely used product in the earthmoving sector;
- Supercombinata Easy Compact: thanks to its compact dimensions, it is ideal for boring and welding jobs in confined spaces and covers the range from Ø 42–250 mm;
- Supercombinata SC1: The best-known and most versatile product in the Supercombinata series covers the standard machining range for in-line boring and internal and external overlay welding from Ø 42 mm to Ø 400 mm;
- Facing: enables flange facing on orthogonal planes within the diameter range of Ø 48 mm to Ø 400 mm and the production of seats for Seeger rings and O-rings using standard tools.
- EFK – Electronic Facing Kit: the digital evolution of flange facing. This system allows cutting parameters to be controlled via an electronic terminal, enabling feed to be independent of rotation and achieving a higher surface quality.
